West Sacramento, CA — Raley’s today welcomes Don Ball as Sr. Vice President & Chief Financial Officer of the privately held, family-owned company.
In this role, Don oversees all areas of finance for the supermarket chain, made up of 132 Raley’s, Bel Air, Nob Hill Foods and Food Source stores in Northern California and Nevada.
Don comes to Raley’s with a great deal of experience in the retail field, having spent nearly 20 years with the privately held IKEA, a popular worldwide home furnishings retailer with its roots starting in Sweden. For the past 10 years, Don served as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer for IKEA North America Services, LLC, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In his nearly 20 years with IKEA, Don held positions such as Treasurer of U.S. Operations, Operations Manager and North American Business Controller. He was the first American member of the senior management team.
In his 28-year finance career, Don has shown great commitment to his endeavors, working for three companies. After earning his bachelor’s in Accounting from Marist College in New York, he worked for Congress Financial Corporation as a Junior Account Executive. He then went on to Savoy Industries, Inc., a public holding company, where he rose from Cash Manager to Assistant Treasurer. While there, he earned his MBA in Financial Management from Pace University in New York.
“Don is a wonderful match for Raley’s, bringing with him the experience of working within a tight-knit, family organization with a culture that both respects tradition and demands innovation — just as Raley’s does,” said Bill Coyne, President & CEO.
Don succeeds Bill Anderson, who retired last fall after a successful 19-year career with Raley’s.
